PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 30th, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sumter County Board of Commissioners Board Room at 500 West Lamar Street, Americus, Georgia with the Planning & Zoning Commission for the purpose of receiving citizens input and comments to discuss the following requests.
This meeting will be held in person.
2026-R-04-006: To consider a request from Samantha Ramirez and Trevor Israel on behalf of Charles Israel to rezone parcel number 1601-5-29, also known as 2239 Ga Hwy 308, from Agricultural (AG) to Heavy industrial (I-2) for the purpose of opening a scrapyard.
The Sumter County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sumter County Courthouse, Board Room, 500 West Lamar St., Americus, Georgia for the purpose of receiving public input on the preceding zoning request.
