PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 30th, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sumter County Board of Commissioners Board Room at 500 West Lamar Street, Americus, Georgia with the Board of Zoning Appeals for the purpose of receiving citizens input and comments to discuss the following request.
This meeting will be held in person.
2026-V-07-020: To consider a request from Leatherbrook Holsteins #3, LLC to vary the minimum acreage requirement in an Agricultural (AG) zone at parcel 1717-217-4, also known as 782 Croxton Cross Rd, Smithville, GA 31787, from 5 acres to 2 acres.
2026-V-07-021: To consider a request from Mark & Kim Gray to vary the minimum acreage requirement in an Agricultural (AG) zone at parcel 2818-38-7, also known as 108 Brown Small Rd, Leslie, GA 31764. The applicants are requesting approval to subdivide the property into two parcels of approximately 2.225 acres each, reducing the minimum lot size requirement from 5 acres.
2026-V-07-022: To consider a request from Dannette Sasser to vary the minimum road frontage in an Agricultural (AG) zone at parcel 2606-127-1, also known as 414 Dupree Rd, Americus, GA 31719, from 250ft of road frontage to 30ft of road frontage.
